Bismillah.

As the beautiful month of Ramadan comes to a close, we are often left wondering how we can continue to benefit ourselves and our communities moving forward. Our efforts in this sacred month, in order to be sustainable, require further development and constant exertion. The path of knowledge is for all people in all places because it is the means and end of drawing closer to Allah (subhana wa ta'ala). If we find ourselves lacking motivation on the path of knowledge, we ought to seek the assistance of Allah (subhana wa ta'ala). If we find ourselves still unable to do so, then the least we can do is to support those whom the Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa sallam) described as his heirs, the righteous scholars. However, lest we be mistaken about the gravity of this trust, we must not forget that it is a communal obligation to spread sacred knowledge. A knowledge that is so profound that the Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa sallam) and his successors went to great lengths to preserve it and transmit it to future generations. This does not mean we should neglect other causes in our community but we ought not to let sacred knowledge fall to the wayside. After all the pursuit of sacred knowledge is none other than the object of our very existence, it is to attain knowledge of Allah (subhana wa ta'ala).

So on this last day of Ramadan, inshallah let us close it by pursing the greatest amount of benefit – by giving generously to worthy causes and recalling that supporting institutions of sacred learning is a fardh kaffayah and also a sadaqa jariyah. If we give to these institutions, it will benefit us even in our graves inshallah.

Please make an effort to support the wonderful work that SeekersGuidance.
